Don’t Blame Trump, Blame the Tone Deaf Republican Establishment
The current troubles in the Republican Party and the reason why Trump is the nominee can be laid directly at the feet of the Republican establishment. If the establishment and their supporters are unhappy with Trump as the nominee, then they only need to look no further than into the mirror. I am a Republican. I see myself as a libertarian/conservative, with sympathies for the Tea Party.
Trump didn’t just come into the Republican Primary and rip the nomination away from the establishment, meaning Jeb Bush. The RINO’s gave it to him as a gift! The establishment’s callousness and tone deaf approach in putting forth a third Bush was the stupidity that pushed the nomination toward Trump. If they had listened to their base and groomed a candidate or two, then Trump would still be building golf courses.
Republicans run for election as conservatives, but vote for liberal policies and bigger government once in Washington. The march of government since FDR has been decidedly left. The base was not going to be lied to by another RINO or Bush who runs as a conservative, then behaves like a liberal Democrat.
Here are things that the RINO’s either contributed to directly or failed to stop:
The size of government is rising on average faster than the US economy. The national debt is $19 trillion and rising. Illegal immigrants number at least 12 million. 94 million adults stopped looking for work. Our trade deficit is over $500 billion a year. On and on and on.
The establishment Republicans are afraid of offending people. Whenever the Democrats propose a law or a budget increase, the Republicans cut it in half and then trumpet what great compromisers they are. NONSENSE. The Democrats have played them.
Here’s an example. If the Democrats propose an increase in a department budget of $10 billion. The Republicans counter at $6 billion and they compromise is at $7 billion. Why is the compromise ALWAYS in favor of the Democrats? Why didn’t the Republicans come out and offer a REDUCTION in the budget of $12 billion and then compromise with a REDUCTION of $1 billion.
A thumbnail guide to the recent history of the Republican RINO’s is:
The Republicans had the House and the Senate under Bush in from 2001 to 2006. During that time the deficit increased from $5 trillion to $10 trillion. They started the War in Iraq. The Republicans voted for Medicare part D. The Republicans spent money like drunken sailors. Generally, it is the Democrats that are the big spenders, but George Bush never vetoed any Republican spending bill. None. Never.
Boehner, who is now gone as of this writing, McConnell and the Republican establishment are personally responsible for the debacles that are Trump and the current condition of the Republican Party. Just when the Tea Party handed the House and Senate to the Republicans, Boehner and McConnell ignored the warnings and went on with business as usual. And they have personally thrown away the most winnable Presidential election for Republicans in recent memory. Hillary Clinton is supremely beatable. Now that’s in doubt.
What a pack of fools. No wonder the conservative right is throwing them out, being joined by conservative Democrats who can’t stand the leftist policies of the Obama Administration.http://vandanson.com/dont-blame-trump-blame-the-tone-deaf-republican-establishment/PoliticsPoliticsThe current troubles in the Republican Party and the reason why Trump is the nominee can be laid directly at the feet of the Republican establishment.
